Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering an account or accessing RedForums ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not access or use the Platform. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and RedForums.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to register. We do not permit accounts for individuals under 13; any such account discovered will be permanently terminated. Users between the ages of 13 and 15 (inclusive) will have their accounts automatically frozen upon registration until they turn 16, as calculated from their registered date of birth. By registering, you confirm that your date of birth is accurate. Providing a false date of birth is a violation of these Terms.

3. Account Registration

Each email address may only be associated with one account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials. Do not share your password with anyone. You must verify your email address before you can post content, leave comments, or purchase VIP membership. Support tickets may be opened without email verification. If you believe your account has been compromised, change your password immediately and open a support ticket.

4. Freedom of Speech Policy

RedForums is a free speech platform. Users may post opinions, political commentary, satire, criticism of governments, corporations, and public figures, cybersecurity and hacking research, controversial discussions, and other lawful content without censorship, subject only to the narrow restrictions in Section 5.

We do not moderate or remove content because it is offensive, politically controversial, unpopular, or uncomfortable. Moderation exists solely to enforce the hard limits below and to maintain the operational integrity of the Platform.

5. Prohibited Content

The following content is absolutely prohibited and will result in immediate permanent account termination with no appeal. Applicable content may be reported to law enforcement authorities:

  • Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) — Any sexual content depicting minors, whether real, simulated, illustrated, or described in detail. All such content will be reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant law enforcement.
  • Credible threats of violence — Direct, specific, credible threats targeting identifiable real individuals, groups, or physical locations.
  • Terrorism facilitation — Content that recruits, finances, or operationally plans acts of terrorism or mass violence.

All other content, including controversial political speech, adult content properly tagged as NSFW, security research, and criticism, is permitted subject to proper tagging obligations under Section 6.

6. Content Tagging Obligations

When creating posts, you must accurately classify your content using the mandatory tag system. Required tags include: NSFW (for adult content), Language (for posts containing strong language), Tutorial, Discussion, Leak, Tool, and Question. Misrepresenting or circumventing the tag system is a violation subject to a warning or account freeze. NSFW and Language-tagged content is filterable by users via Content Filter settings.

7. Credits and Virtual Economy

Credits are a virtual platform currency with no real-world monetary value. RedForums does not accept real money for credits or any other platform feature. No financial transaction between you and RedForums occurs. Credits are earned exclusively through on-platform participation: daily login bonuses, referral rewards, level-up grants, XP milestones, upvote bonuses, and administrative grants. Credits may be used to purchase VIP membership, place advertisements, boost posts, and unlock locked post sections. Credits may be transferred between users. All credit transactions are final and non-reversible.

8. VIP Membership

VIP membership is purchased exclusively with credits earned on the platform. No real money is involved. VIP membership grants enhanced features including increased vote weight, access to VIP-only posts and content, and end-to-end encrypted direct messages. VIP plans are available in 7-day, 30-day, and Lifetime durations. VIP credits are non-refundable once spent. Lifetime VIP is permanent. Staff members (Helper, Moderator, Admin) retain their staff role regardless of VIP status and have access to the same content-level privileges. A free 3-day VIP trial is granted when a new user registers with a valid referral code.

9. End-to-End Encrypted Direct Messages

VIP members and staff (Helper, Moderator, Admin) may send and receive end-to-end encrypted (E2E) direct messages. E2E messages are encrypted in your browser using your ECDH public key before transmission. The Platform stores your public key to enable key exchange but cannot decrypt the content of E2E messages. Standard (non-E2E) direct messages are stored in our database and may be accessed by staff in response to abuse reports. You are solely responsible for the content of your messages.

10. Content Filtering

Users may configure their content filter preference in Settings. Three levels are available: Minimal (hides NSFW and language-tagged posts), Moderate (hides NSFW only — default), and Full (no filtering). Users under 16 are restricted to Moderate filtering and may not enable Full. Content filtering is a personal preference tool and does not affect what other users see.

11. Referral Program

Each user may set a unique referral code. When a new user registers using your referral code and verifies their email address, the referrer earns 1 credit. Abuse of the referral program, including creating fake accounts, self-referrals, or any other manipulation, will result in immediate permanent ban and forfeiture of all credits earned through the referral system.

12. Advertisements

Users may place text-based advertisements using credits. Ads are reviewed by moderators before activation. Credits are deducted immediately upon submission. If an ad is rejected by a moderator, 95% of the credit cost is refunded. Advertisers are solely responsible for the content and legality of their ads. Ads must comply with all content rules under Section 5 and Section 6. The Platform reserves the right to remove ads for any violation without refund.

13. Moderation and Account Bans

Violations of the prohibited content rules in Section 5 result in immediate permanent account termination with no appeal. For other violations (such as tag misuse, referral abuse, or harassment), moderators may issue warnings or freeze accounts for a defined period. Administrators have full discretion to ban accounts permanently for repeated or serious violations. Bans are delivered via email and in-site notification. Ban appeals may be submitted via a support ticket opened on an alternate account. Banned accounts are permanently deactivated. Account data is retained for platform integrity and moderation history.

14. Account Deletion

You may request account deletion via the Data & Privacy section of Settings, after entering your password and confirming your intent. Upon submission, your account is permanently frozen and deactivated. You will no longer be able to log in. Your publicly visible profile will be removed, but your content may remain on the Platform in anonymized form for platform integrity. Account data is retained in our database as described in the Privacy Policy. Deletion is a freeze, not a physical erasure — data is retained but the account is inaccessible. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

15. Data Export

You may request a copy of all personal data associated with your account at any time via Settings > Data & Privacy > Email My Data. The export will be sent to your registered email address within a few minutes. The export includes your profile information, credit transaction history, advertisement history, referral data, behavioral data (tag interaction history), and account metadata. 16. User-Generated Content and Ownership

You retain ownership of the content you create. By posting, you grant RedForums a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, distribute, and store your content to the extent required to operate the Platform. You represent that you have the rights to post any content you submit. You are solely responsible for your content and its compliance with applicable law.

17. Email Communications

The Platform sends automated transactional emails for the following security and account events: email address verification, login alerts (including IP and browser), password changes, account bans and unbans, staff role changes, VIP activation, administrator credit adjustments, and site-wide announcements. Policy update announcements (TOS, Privacy Policy) are sent via email to all registered users when material changes are made. These emails are operational and security-related. You cannot opt out of security-critical emails (login alerts, password change notices) while maintaining an active account.

18. Privacy and Data

Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. The Privacy Policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, how long we retain it, and your rights regarding your data.

19. XP and Levels

Users earn Experience Points (XP) through platform participation: reading posts (minimum 30-second reads, counted once per post per day), creating posts, leaving comments, and sending messages. XP accumulates toward levels, and level-up grants in credits are awarded automatically. The XP system includes anti-gaming measures. Automated bots or scripts used to farm XP are a violation of these Terms.

20. Post Archiving

Users may archive their own posts. Archived posts are hidden from public feeds. Archived posts are permanently deleted after 30 days unless restored by the author before expiry. Restored posts return to public visibility. Admins may view and delete archived posts.

21. Account Responsibility

You are solely responsible for all activity conducted under your account. The Platform is not liable for unauthorized access resulting from your failure to maintain credential security. You agree not to use automated scripts, bots, or other tools to interact with the Platform without explicit written permission. Reverse-engineering or exploiting the Platform's systems is prohibited.

22. Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We make no guarantees of uptime, data preservation, or fitness for any particular purpose. RedForums is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, including loss of data, loss of credits, or account termination.

23. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be announced via site notification and email to all registered users. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you disagree with any changes, you may request account deletion via Settings.
